I love the colorful aspect of these landscapes.  Poetic license is not just limited to poetry.

Corn and Watermelon........................Oil Paintings

 8x24...........Corny but True
 10x30.................Slice of Life
8x8..................Summer Slice
These are some new and different subject matters for me.  I like to paint things pertaining to the south and watermelon is about as southern as it gets.  And oddly enough, I have never like to eat watermelon, but I do like to paint it.

 8x16..........Make your Mark

These paintings are sort of the type of thing you would expect a man to like.  They sure could add a little class to the Man Cave.

Birds of a Feather....Ducks, Egret...........Oil Paintings

 36x24....................Taking Flight
24x36..............Catching the Last Rays of Sun
These are two of my favorite new pieces.  They both evoke a calm, and peaceful feeling.  I guess that's typical of all nature.

Baby Oils.....Tiny Oil Paintings.....tomatoes, olive, cotton

All of these are tiny little 6x6 oil paintings.  They provide a little bit of color and interest and don't take up a lot of space.  They are on canvas that is 1 1/2" deep so they can stand up on their own on a shelf or on top of a stack of books.

Softer Palette....tomatoes, pears, cotton.......Oil Paintings

10x20..............................Tomatoes Just Waiting
 12x24....................Pear Still Life
8x16....................Cotton In Field
I have experimented a little with a softer palette of colors for some of my paintings.  Some homes need the softer approach.  I like these, and as you can tell, they are not TOO soft.....just soft-er.

Barn, Shack, Fence............Oil paintings

 36x36.................................Barn and Cotton Field
 30x30.............................Springtime in the Country
10x30..........................Zig-Zag Fence
These are some rural scenes that I have collected over time.  Each one has its own charm and special mood.  I just paint what I see, but what I feel sometimes comes out too.

Vegetable Paintings....................oil paintings

 10x20...............Tomatoes on turquoise
 10x30,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Tomatoes on the Windowsill
20x20.....................Bell Peppers
It always makes me happy when someone buys a painting of mine for their kitchen.  Because I know how much time my family spends in MY kitchen.  I know they must like it to put it somewhere where they will be seeing it so much.

Sand Crabs......Oil paintings

 12x24................Curious Crawler
12x24............Colorful Crustation
These are a couple of my new creations for the Red River Revel.  I can't believe I leave in 9 days!  Lots to do before then.  The top painting is from a photo that my daughter-in-law took on vacation this year.  This little guy kept creeping closer and closer.  Then he stopped to pose.  The one on the bottom is his colorful cousin.  (Pretty much made up the colors on him, so don't go looking for this species anywhere)

Tabasco and Olive Oil......Oil Paintings

 Tabasco on Everything........10x20
 Tabasco on turquoise.......10x20
Olive Oil and Fixin's.......10x20

These are some more of my favorite subjects ready for the Revel.  One year I tried bringing more "new things" and after about 40 times being asked....."aren't you the tomato lady?"  and "didn't you have Tabasco paintings last year?"  I decided to always bring some of the tried and true with a mix of a bunch of new ones.  Last year I got the mix just right.  I hope I did this year, too.  (Really) New ones will be posting tomorrow.

Fine Ride (antique car).......Oil Painting

Fine Ride................16x20
I love this color so much that I painted my kitchen the same color.  I think this is a nostalgic painting. My research tells me this is an old Ford from the 50's.

Beer Tap Handles........oil painting

12x24.................On Tap
This painting is from a photo I made when my husband and I were eating lunch at Mugshots one day. I had the painting with me at one of my shows and a lady saw it and commissioned one for her husband for their anniversary.  She chose beers that they had enjoyed during their courtship and early marriage.  Men are sometimes hard to buy for....What a great gift!

Sale on Oil Painting.....New Orleans Musician

Strolling Musician.......24x36

This is something I don't EVER do. I am running a sale on this painting. Normally if a painting hangs around for a while and just doesn't sell, I paint over it or something of that sort. But I love this painting. I want to see it go to a good home. If you think you could love this painting too, contact me with a story of why you like it and we can talk business....I am going to offer it at a drastically reduced rate (the better your story about why you want it, the better the price will be) lol.

I just don't want to paint over it. Share this blog post with friends, think gift for a musician that you know (that you are willing to buy an oil painting for.) If you know the owner of Court of Two Sisters share it with them. lol The painting measures 24x36 and it would love to come live with you.

Grove on Game Day.........Oil Paintings

Lyceum as Seen Through the Grove.............12x24

Game Day in the Grove.................12x24

Early Morning in the Grove...........24x24

These are three different views of the Grove on game day.  With football season firing up this will be a familiar sight to many.   Two of these paintings are still available, but one is gone to a forever home.  However, someone saw the one that sold before it sold and commissioned a similar one.  The owner is on her way to pick it up any minute as I write this...

Floral in Striped Vase.....Oil Painting

Flowers in Striped Vase.........12x24
This painting I loved so much I decided to keep it.  but I have another one that is similar coming up soon.  I will be posting my new work (the stuff that's still wet right now) soon.  but for now I am posting things from the spring.

Update....sorry to those that subscribe to my blog and have gotten this as a second post for today.  We are going to be out of town for a couple of days and I was scheduling a few posts to be sent while we are gone and I forgot to put the post-dated date.  Pretend you didn't see this till Friday.  Thanks.

Branch Of Cotton on Deep Red.......oil painting

Cotton Branch........10x20

I like the vertical format of this one.  It's about as southern as it gets.
