Ole Miss Grove, Landmarks.....oil paintings

This one is called "New Kid in Town".  I did one similar to this last year and I found the one khaki tent to be amusing in among all the red, white and blue ones.  I thought it was obviously a freshman family that had not had time to buy their new tent yet.  

This is a tiny (comparatively speaking) version of a commission that I did last year.  The first one was 24" x 48".  This one is 8"x 16".

This is another small version of a commission.  The commission was 36" x 36".  This one is 8" x 8".

These are three different views of the Grove on game day.  With football season firing up this will be a familiar sight to many.   Two of these paintings are still available, but one is gone to a forever home.  However, someone saw the one that sold before it sold and commissioned a similar one.  The owner is on her way to pick it up any minute as I write this...

These are just a sampling of some of the commissions that I have done in the last few months. 

 

 

The USMC painting was done for a Marine veteran.  I reinterpreted the Marine "Anchor, Globe and Eagle" logo to feature the owner's own Ribbon Bar.  It makes it much more personal and he knows it was created just for him. 

 

The house is for one of my treasured clients.  They bought an "auxiliary residence" in Oxford and wanted a painting of their new house.  The owner provided me with a sensational photo of the home and I can't help but think the painting is pretty sensational as well.

 

Finally, there is Colonel Reb.  There are those who miss him.  A lot.  Let's just say they can't "bear" the new mascot.  Colonel Reb with his "Hotty Toddy" background brings back fond memories for these folks.
