New Work Fall 2018....Landscapes....Oil Paintings

Landscapes always seem like a "window on your wall" to me.  They bring the peace and serenity of nature right in to you, no matter what your actual surroundings may be.

Barn and Field...................oil painting

I have been enjoying my journey with my newfound philosophies and mindsets.  (see last three posts) This particular painting is a "paintover" which always makes for amazing texture and depth.  I love how this turned out.  Hope you do too.If you know anyone that is looking for a nice 30x40 barn painting send them my way.

Rural, Farm, Barn, Cottonfield oil paintings

These are such a good match to show together.  Typical roadside views on pretty much any road in Mississippi.

Barn, Shack, Fence............Oil paintings

 36x36.................................Barn and Cotton Field
 30x30.............................Springtime in the Country
10x30..........................Zig-Zag Fence
These are some rural scenes that I have collected over time.  Each one has its own charm and special mood.  I just paint what I see, but what I feel sometimes comes out too.

Barn and Hay Bales.....oil painting.......#19 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

16x20....oil on canvas.....$375

I love the colors in this one.  And since here in Mississippi the temperatures have finally dipped into the 80's it seems that fall is in the air.  These big rolls of hay are in every field this time of year.  I took a little liberty with the trees, they are definitely not that colorful around here yet.  But as I said, the "low" temps have got me thinking of Autumn...

Southern Scenes....Oil paintings

I love living in the south.  It is really funny to me how many transplants we have here....people that come down here and decide to stay or return permanently.  The south, and particularly Mississippi, has such a bad reputation in other parts of the country.   But people that come here and really give it a chance find out that it is a wonderful place to be.  The food, the culture, the kindness of the people.  I wouldn't live anywhere else.
