These are three little abstracts that I did recently.  I was in love with the color combo and just sort of painted with an open mind...free flowing and intuitional.  I love these.  They would be so cool tucked up on a bookshelf.  They are even manly enough to go in a man's office,too.  As with most of these paintings, they are so much prettier in person.

I loved my little experiment with the black and white series.  This one was done pouring paint on the canvas and then dragging it with an applicator to get the final product.  It is a less than predictable process resulting in a looser, more relaxed look. 

 

Today is the last day of the Red River Revel.  Time to take it down and pack it up and head home to see my family that I am missing so much!  : )

You've heard the saying "Can't see the forest for the trees..."  Well, as with all good abstracts, you see what you see and I see what I see.  I can't tell if I see the forest or the trees...

It's up to you what you see in these paintings...In the first one I see piano keys and shadowy faces trying to decide who gets to play first.  In the second there is a tiny piano in the bottom right (it's much more evident in the actual painting).  But you want to know what I really see most of all?  I see a dog speeding by with his head out the car window.  But that 's just me. Some have seen a large face, others two Picasso-like faces.  Like I said it's up to you...

I never get tired of painting red on turquoise.  I has such an impact!  I can just see these little tomatoes rolling out of my shopping bag onto the counter.

One of my grandparents had one of these enamel bowls and it makes me think of older times, fresher food and small gardens.

I believe I have mentioned that I have become a little more comfortable painting flowers since my Dreama Tolle Perry workshop this summer.  I saw a painting done in this fashion and loved it so I thought I would try it out.  I love the results.  Plan to do more as a matter of fact.

Well there you have them!  30 Paintings posted in 30 days.  Don't try to count them, as some of them are pretty tiny.  But they are there.  I do not believe I have ever posted  30 days in a row ever.

 

I leave for my first big show this Friday.  I will be at the Red River Revel in Shreveport from Friday till I come home the next Sunday.  It is an 8(!) day show and since my family all have more structured jobs, no one is able to travel with me for that amount of time.  Thank goodness for my good friends and artist pals that will be there.

 

The rest of this week will be spent getting ready to go....painting the paintings is sometimes the easy part.  But so that you won't forget me, I am pre-scheduling some things to publish while I am gone.  And I hope to begin posting some shots on Facebook of scenes from Shreveport.
